Helping Invisible Obama

The Daily Beast reports: Clint Eastwood’s now-infamous speech at the Republican National Convention included a dialogue—or rather monologue—with an empty chair. The idea was that he was addressing an invisible President Obama, who the actor and director was both conducting a (one-sided) interview with and giving a bit of a lecture. Within moments, a new Twitter account popped up called @InvisibleObama to record and parody the incident.

The GOP built me.

When Mitt Romney says “Mr. Chairman”, do you think he’s referring to me?

Mitt, if you would talk to me like Clint did, I’d tell you that my iPod plays “Invisible Touch”. On repeat.

TDPP’s response: When life gives us Invisible Obama, lets make our support to PBO indivisible……….

One Of My All Time Favourites

I’ve just started reading Robin Sharma the author of ‘The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ series. One of his recommendation is to find the time to laugh each day just like a child.

During my early teens I grew up on a steady dose of comic books:Walt Disney, Tin Tin, Asterix & Obelix…but enjoying the action on TV is a totally different experience one I never get tired of. Enjoy folks!

This Week At My Yard

I should have known when the 2 romantic wascally wabbits were parading in my backyard……this young wobbly wabbit was not far behind.

Also, too: One of my earliest memories of growing plants/flowers at home were the red, papery bougainvilleas in our Tirupur residence. So, when I saw some bougainvillea plant during my bargain hunt this year, I of course HAD to buy me some. I planted them both in containers as I wasn’t sure how they will handle the cold weather (I intend bringing the containers to my basement for the winter). One has started blooming while the other is how shall I put…ummm still thinking about it……

PS: The 2 other plants in the same container are called ‘Cleome’, also a new addition this year….

Just So I Can Return The Favour…

“I would request that my body in death be buried not cremated, so that the energy content contained within it gets returned to the earth, so that flora and fauna can dine upon it, just as I have dined upon flora and fauna during my lifetime” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson

Along with Martin Bashir, Charles Pierce, Neil is one of my ‘can’t resist’ guy ….

Road Trip

My son and I went on a day trip up north to Haliburton county in the first week of August. He had a shadowing assignment at the emerg-department in that county hospital. We originally planned to leave Thursday night, but due to a heavy downpour, yes that same one which wiped out  my one and only Korean Lilac bloom (oh man, I am indeed a grudge carrying b****, ain’t I?)..

Anyhoo, back to the road trip: we decided to cancel the late evening trip and drove up early the next morning, here are some pictures all taken from the car, from our drive onto the county roads to some local scenic shots to the dark, menacing black clouds on our way back home………..All in all memorable day!
